Restless, energetic, ambitious and persistent, New York City has earned the reputation of being “The city that never sleeps”. This is the United States largest metro area and can be said to be the most happening place in the US. Manhattan is the key center of activity while other boroughs, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island have their own unique identity and charm.
New York City overshadows all other cities with its impressive architectural wonders starting from the Statue Of Liberty to the Empire State Building. This is a hub for art, media, culture, music, business, R&D, style and food. Everything about this city is attractive starting from its world famous galleries, trendy restaurants, hip boutiques, cool night hangouts and happening theatres to the astounding business district. Wall Street is in New York as is the United Nations Headquarters. The busy pace of the city will leave you exhausted.
The Dutch were the first Europeans to occupy Manhattan in the early 1620’s and they named the place New Amsterdam. It was later renamed New York when the British took over in 1664. Must-visit places and landmarks are Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Brooklyn Bridge, Lincoln Center, Wall Street, Rockefeller Plaza and Central Park.
There’s always some event happening in the city so it’s a great place to visit anytime during the year. Just plan your schedule such that you’re able to see all the places worth visiting and you don’t spend too much time standing in queues.
