Keflavik International Airport (also known as Flugstod Leifs Eirikssonar) is the largest airport in Iceland. It is situated near the town of Keflavik, about 50 km (about 31 miles) from Reykjavik. Although the population of Iceland is only 0.3 million, the airport serves 1.8 million passengers per year.

The Flybus coach to Reykjavik takes 40-50 minutes. The Blue Lagoon geothermal spa is a most popular detour on the route from Keflavik to Reykjavik.
