Chandigarh or “The Fort of Chandi” is a union territory of India that serves as capital of the states of Haryana and Punjab. Known internationally for its architecture and urban planning, it is the first planned city in India and is referred to as, “The City Beautiful”.

The city is also known as a pensioner’s paradise since many of its residents are retired government personnel. Banking and finance, trade, information technology and the military are common economic ventures of the city making it earn the highest per capita income in all of India.

This beautiful city can best be looked into during the spring and summer months where the monsoon rains are still far away. Besides the beautiful city structures, there are also other attractions that visitors can enjoy like its rich flora and fauna, the Rose Garden, Morni Hills, and riding the rickshaws.
