Calvi is a town with many beach resorts in the northwestern coast of the island of Corsica in France. This beautiful town was rumored to be the birthplace of Christopher Columbus and began as a fishing port then to a French Military base during the Second World War.
Due to its many pristine beaches, Calvi is a perfect place for relaxation and rejuvenation. It also offers water sports, fishing, golf, ancient monuments, shopping and dining. Among its popular destinations are Notre Dame de la Serra Chapel which is overlooking the Calvi Bay, the Citadel which is a fortress that was built centuries ago and is a notable example of Genoese architecture, and its secluded stretches of white sand beaches where tourists and locals can enjoy a ride on the beach train that follows a track near the water’s edge.
