Calabar is the capital city of Cross River State in southwestern Nigeria that has an estimated population of 1.2 million people. It is known for its Atlantic slave trade during the 16th century wherein the city became a recognized major international sea port transporting African slaves to English ships.

The city also has its fair share of landmarks lures to explore. These include an international museum, a botanical garden, resorts, and a social club. There are also special anniversaries like the Cross River State Annual Christmas Festival that displays musical performances by local and international artists, fashion shows and other entertaining activities.
