Bojnord is one of the ancient cities in Iran. The city is divided into several villages and the most important village is the Shirindarre. In the 2005 census, the city has a population of 181,648 inhabitants. Shirindaree is the rice capital of Bojnord and a tourist area.

The city is a multilingual in which many people speak different language such as Turkish, Kumanci and Persian. Many tourists are attracted to visit Bojnord to witness Turkmen horses. Visitors can do shopping for some items from the shops and stores available in the city. Although there is a minimal tourist spot that you can see, it is still possible for you to enjoy your stay in the city by exploring other places. However, you need to hire a tour guide if you want to get around the city.
