Located in the Andes, Bogota is the economic center of Colombia. It is also known as the city of contrast influenced by the mixture of English, Indian and Spanish. The city was established in 1538 when it obtained independence from Spain. The prominent business in Bogota is the emerald trade that makes the city as highly commercialized and industrialized.

The northern and central zone of Bogota attracts most of the visitors because of the great churches found in the place. Spectacular view of parks and other famous sites can be seen from the Cerro de Montserrat. Bogota is also famous as place of miracles in one of its churches where you can reach the top through the hundreds of stairs. Getting around the city is accessible through bus transportations.
