Bergerac is a region in France known for its fine wines and tobacco. Many tourists who have traveled here would attest to the fact that the place offers the best tasting wines in the whole of France. Its name was said to be derived from the purple grapes which grows in abundance around the area.

The Musée du Tabac found in a 17-century old house showcases collections of pipes and other tools to illustrate the history of smoking weeds.

Visiting the Old Statue of Cyrano de Bergerac is highly recommended. It is one of the important historic monuments in the area and its view is very relaxing and pleasing to the eyes as it is surrounded by varieties of flowers and bushes.
