Benin City is considered to be one of the oldest cities in Nigeria which can date back during pre-colonial times. It is one of the most advanced kingdoms in the country before the British arrived and colonized them. Benin City used to be the capital of the old Bendel state. Today, Benin City is the capital of Edo.
