Barrancabermeja is a municipality and a city in Santander Department located in northeastern Colombia. It is situated on the banks of the Magdalena River in the Middle Magdalena region, and is nourished with productive trades within the region. Barrancabermeja is 110 kilometers west of Bucaramanga.

It is famous for it is been called upon to be the home of biggest petroleum refinery in Colombia, which is specifically owned by the state company of Ecopetrol. The people of Columbia mostly depend on Petroleum and Farming which is their main source of living.

Investors coming from other parts of the world are gaining so much of Columbia’s resources and in return give Columbia the progress of its economic growth as well.
