Baku is a region as well as the capital of Azerbaijan. It is also considered to be the largest city in Caucasus.
One of the best places to visit in Baku is the UNESCO declared world heritage site Old city. There are a few places to visit here and all can be done in one day.
The palace of the Shirvan Shahs is one of the greatest sites of Baku and is considered to be its crowning glory in terms of tourism. The Maidens tower can also be located in the Old City and is still declared as a world heritage site.
You can also visit the Atashgah fire temple via a train and drop by to see the Yanar Dagh which is a mountain that has been on fire continuously for over a thousand years due to its naturally occurring gas vents.
