Bahar Dar, or also called the city of Bahir Dar, is a city which can be located in the northwestern area of Ethiopia situated in between the cities of Dire Dawa and Addis Ababa. This city is also considered to be one of the best tourist destinations in all of Ethiopia and their main attraction are the Blue Nile River and Lake Tana. At the end of the Blue Nile River one can see the majestic view of the Blue Nile falls which is a breathtaking sight.

If you are in to culture you can go to either two monasteries which are the Azua Miriam Monastery and the Ura Kidane Meret Monastery. The Ura Kidane Meret monastery is well known for its colorful and beautiful murals.
