Ardabil, also known as Ardebil and Artavil, is a province that can be located in the northwestern part of Iran. It is also considered one of the Azeri inhabited provinces.

One of the many tourist destination spots in the area is the Sabalan Mountains which offers a great shift from the busy city life.

The larger parts of the province are forested and green so tourists have a big chance to catch glimpses of wild animals just walking about. There are also a number of beautiful lakes in the area where different fishes thrive as well as a few water birds.

Another famous landmark of the province is the Ardabil museum where one can see various forms of paintings, sculptures as well as other works of art.

The tomb of Sheikh Safi is also another popular tourist destination for the province.
