Ankavandra in Madagascar is more of a town and a commune. Its district is Miandrivazo, which is a part of Menabe Region and Toliara Province. Ankavandra is said to have the best livelihood setting in Madagascar.

The majority of their population comprising 50% works for fishing, 25 % for farmers, 20 % for those who receive livelihood and raising livestock and 5% for employment services. Farmers have found importance in cassava as a crop. The most important product in this place is rice which is the main source of energy for people living on the place. The other one is sugarcane which has attracted many investors of sugarcane manufacturing corporations for the last decades up to the present.
