Located in Puerto Rico’s northwestern tip, Aguadilla was founded by Luis de Cordova in the year 1775. Aguadilla is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean not just to the north and west but also to the north of Aguada and Moca as well as the west of Isabela, making Aguadilla possess the most number of beautiful beaches compared to all other municipalities. Aguadilla has been awarded the Best Quality of Life Award given by both the 2002 and 2004 National Mayor Association.

The Las Cascadas waterfalls in the Aguadilla waterpark has helped boost tourism in the area as well as the Aguadilla Ice Skating Arena which is the Caribbean’s only ice skating complex. Most famous for its excellent surfing beaches, a large array of professional and amateur surfing events is hosted here. Famous Aguadilla surfing spots include Surfer’s Beach, Gas Chamber, Las Ruinas, Survival and Table Tops. Aguadilla Landmarks include the Cathedral San Carlos Borromeo, Banyan Treehouse, Campanitas de Cristal Fountain and Cristobal Colon Park.
