The most populous city of Ghana, Accra has been its capital city since 1877 and is also the capital of both the Greater Accra Region and the Accra Metropolis District. It is the economic center of Ghana which is a coastal nation in Africa. More than seventy percent of manufacturing capacities of the whole country is located in Accra. Public buildings reflect Accra’s transformation as a Victoriasborg nineteenth century suburb to the bustling metropolis it is today.

Among its attractions are the National Museum, the National Theater, the Kwame Nkrmah Mausoleum, the Accra International Conference Center the Jamestown fishing port and Makola Market. It is also homw to the Ghana Academy of Arts and Science, the National Archives of Ghana and the Ghana Central Library. A great place to visit is also the Christianborg Castle also known as the Osu Castle which have been built by the Danes in the seventeenth century. The Golden Jubilee House, where the Ghana President resides is also noteworthy as well as the Accra Center for National Culture, the Ohene Djan Stadium and several beaches.
