Abu Dhabi is the current capital of the United Arab Emirates as well as its second to the largest city. With a cosmopolitan population of 860,000 it is located on a t-shaped island that juts out into the Persian Gulf. Abu Dhabi is the twenty-sixth most expensive city in the world and the third in the region. In Abu Dhabi are important federal government offices as it is the seat of the United Arab Emirates Government as well as home to the Emarati Royal Family.

Abu Dhabi has grown to become a bustling metropolis due to its relatively high average population income. The city is the country’s political industrial center and is a major cultural centre as well, generating fifteen percent of the United Arab Emirate’s GDP. Financial institutions in the district include the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates and numerous multinational corporate headquarters.
