Aberdeen is also known as the ‘gateway to the Chesapeake Bay’ and is a city located in the county of Harford in the United States and has a population of 13,842 in the 2000 census. The city’s name came from the Scotland city with the same name, as many Scots emigrated and settled here. The Aberdeen area is a three-cluster community comprised of Hall’s Cross Roads, Mechanicsville and The village of Aberdeen. A mere thirty miles in the northeast of Baltimore, Aberdeen is conveniently located to big city amenities including Ripken Stadium, art and culture institutions and sophisticated dining as well as main transportation hubs. At the same time, it has a small town relaxed atmosphere with family friendly outdoor recreations, relaxed lifestyles and an overflow of friendly residents.

A great place to work, Aberdeen is where the United States Army’s Aberdeen Proving Ground is located. The proving ground was put into effect by an Act of Congress and had been operational since January of 1918. Aberdeen Proving Ground or APG is the headquarters of the United States Army Test and Evaluation Command. The ground sits on approximately 72,500 acres in Harford County.
