What will happen if I miss a flight on one of the carriers I book, regardless of the reason?

Emirates has no formal agreements with other airlines that you may be connecting to or from. As such, Emirates is not responsible for connections to other airlines and they are not responsible for connections to Emirates.

Will I be re-accommodated/re-booked if I miss a connection because of a delay on one of the airlines travelled?

If you miss your Emirates flight, you should contact your local Emirates office or proceed to the airport and speak with an Emirates Customer Service Agent. They will be able to help you re-book your Emirates flight. It is best that you check all rules with all airlines you plan to travel with. If you miss an Emirates connection due to another airline’s delay your Emirates booking will be regarded as a “no-show”. Make sure that you are familiar with the policies of other airlines before you travel.

Will my baggage be checked all the way to my final destination?

Flight connections are not recognized by either airline so you will be responsible to retrieve your baggage from one airline and then check in with the other airline.

Will I be able to get the same seat assignment on all my flights to my final destination?

These connection flights are not linked to one another in either airlines’ reservations systems so there is a possibility that you will sit in different seats throughout your journey.

Who do I contact if there’s a problem with any of my flights?

For any problems encountered that depends on which flight experienced the problem. If it was on the Emirates portion of your journey, please contact your local Emirates office. If it was on the other airline’s portion, you’d have to contact them directly. Remember, this website only provides a connection search service.

Do all airlines have the same rules surrounding changes and cancellations to existing bookings?
