Today, dohop ltd, an Icelandic software company, opened its free travel planner service to the public. Low cost airlines are included in its search engine.

www.dohop.com is the first available planner that enables users to search for travel solutions from several low cost airlines simultaneously and puts together multiflight solutions if needed.

Reykjavik, 14. January 2005. Initially the system includes the schedules of Icelandair, Iceland express and several European low cost airlines. Destinations are close to 200 but as more airlines are added this number will get closer to 500. The system is free for private use. The user simply picks his destinations and dates and hits the [Search for flights] button. Within a few seconds dohop proposes flight solutions, both direct and indirect, which meet the user’s requirements. The results can then be sorted by price, duration and departure time.

“We built dohop because we could not find anything like it on the Internet.” Says Frosti Sigurjonsson general manager and co-founder. “Many of us know how complicated it is to find and purchase low cost flights online. You may have to visit several airline websites and study them carefully to figure out a good solution. There are close to 30 low cost airlines in Europe alone. You sometimes have to enter the same data again and again. Everything has to be precise and correct. Before you know it hours have passed, you are frustrated and you may not have found any solution. – Now this is history, www.dohop.com will find a solution in seconds.”

Using www.dohop.com is free for individuals. The company earns its living from advertizing and commissions from travel companies. The dohop travel planner will be offering more new things in the weeks to come. More airlines, hotels, car rentals and other things travelers like to buy on the Internet. The system will also be translated into several European languages.
